Via Arte Italian Street Painting Festival Presented by the Bakersfield Museum of Art

Bakersfield Museum of Art’s annual Via Arté Italian Street Painting public art exhibition has become a Bakersfield tradition, bringing together the community and the visual arts since 1998. Using the asphalt as canvas, spectators watch each year as artists professional artists, student groups, and children unlock their imaginations and turn the parking lot of the Marketplace into a gallery of amazing chalk masterpieces.

PROFESSIONAL ARTIST AREA
Artists 18 and older create renditions of original work or masterworks for spectators to enjoy.

VIA BAMBINO CHILDREN’S AREA
This family-friendly event allows children to create their own masterpiece at Via Arte.
