
Join Catholic Charities of Bakersfield and the Shafter Healthy Start Collaborative Family Resource Center for a free community event on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 9:00 A.M. The event will take place at 300 N. Valley St. in Shafter, within the Richland School District.
The Shafter Healthy Start November Food Event welcomes families and individuals from across Kern County. Visitors can receive free food, clothing, and community resources while learning about helpful local programs. In addition, translation services will be available to ensure everyone can take part comfortably.
Families can also learn about the School Readiness Initiative preschool program, which helps young children get ready for kindergarten. Staff from Healthy Start and Catholic Charities of Bakersfield will be available to answer questions and guide visitors toward year-round family resources.
This event is one of Catholic Charities of Bakersfield’s November Food Events, which connects families with both immediate help and long-term support. By attending, residents can find valuable information, meet local partners, and strengthen community ties that help build a healthier Kern County.
