On June 21, 2006, we were blessed with a beautiful little baby girl named Kayli Jean Bearden,” says Tasha Johnston, Kayli’s grandma. “On August 26, 2008 she was taken from us by an act of child abuse, by a friend of the family.” Tasha began a vegetable garden and pickling as therapy. In 2014, they decided to do a vendor’s fair called Children are Precious Carnival, and through Kern Community Foundation, they are able to create the Kayli Memorial Fund. In which the Fund gives 100% of the monetary donations and raffle items to the Kern Bridges Youth Homes Foundation.
Any type of donation, either monetary or items for the raffle prizes, to help raise awareness of child abuse. Monetary donations are made out to Kern Community Foundation (Tax ID #: 77-0555874). Any type of donation may be dropped off at Speedway Market or by contacting Tash Johnston 661-717-7573.
