The EmpowerHer Wrestling Workshop Kern County is a free event for girls in Kern County. It helps participants build confidence, strength, and leadership through hands-on wrestling training and service activities. The Wrestling Factory of Kern hosts the workshop and offers guidance from supportive coaches.
The workshop runs from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. First, coaches teach wrestling fundamentals in a clear, step-by-step format. Girls practice takedown techniques and learn how to move with control and balance. Next, participants take a short break before beginning the service project.
After the break, the group creates bracelets for Memorial Hospital’s Pediatric Wing. They also prepare teddy bear donations. This activity shows girls how they can support their community while learning teamwork and leadership.
Girls in Kern County benefit from safe spaces that encourage growth and confidence. This workshop gives them a chance to learn a new sport, meet other girls, and take part in a meaningful project. As a result, participants leave with new skills and a stronger sense of self.
