Angela Griffith, known as Angie to friends and colleagues, joined Kern Community Foundation in February 2018 as the Donor and Foundation Services Coordinator. In 2024, she was promoted to Associate Director of Scholarships, a role in which she guides hundreds of Kern County students each year through their college journeys. Since 2019, she has managed over $3.7 million in scholarships, benefiting more than 1,500 students. Angie oversees the Foundation’s scholarship programs from application to award distribution, working closely with donors, evaluators, and students to ensure both accountability and meaningful impact. Her leadership is central to expanding access to higher education and strengthening donor-student connections across the community.
Angie’s dedication to nonprofit work has been a driving force in her life for nearly a decade. Her journey began with volunteering and fundraising for organizations close to her heart, including the MS Walk, Relay for Life, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Children’s Miracle Network, and the Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County.
Angie also brings more than a decade of experience from the for-profit sector, where she built a strong foundation in customer service and client relations. She began her career as a receptionist and advanced to Operations Manager at Pacific Dualies, an import/export auto parts firm in Gardena. Her involvement in the Speed Equipment Market Association (SEMA) shows broadened her industry knowledge and professional network. After relocating to Bakersfield in 2008, Angie served as Marketing Team Lead at Sam’s Club, where she leveraged her expertise to engage with the local community.
Beyond her professional work, Angie is a proud mother of three and grandmother of five who values family above all. She enjoys reading and dedicates time to giving back through creative acts of service, such as making blankets for NICU babies and toys for the Pediatric Unit at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. Passionate about fostering generosity, she also shares her knowledge of event-based fundraising to inspire others to support their communities.
