Due to local COVID-19 limitations, The Women’s and Girls’ Fund at Kern Community Foundation’s annual Spring Luncheon, where we usually recognize grant awardees, has been reimagined as a series of micro-events celebrating our three 2020 grantees: Kern Literacy Council, Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County and Bakersfield Police Activities League (BPAL).
Join us on October 29 as we celebrate the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County and their services to local youth, including the upcoming Women’s and Girls’ Fund Workforce Development/Summer Jobs Program, in which 40 teen girls will complete a college/career preparation program called “Career Launch,” and be eligible to interview for one of 10 paid STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)-focused summer jobs.
This virtual micro-event will last from 5 to 6 p.m. via Zoom with livestream to Facebook. We invite you to join us from the comfort of your home or office. Please use the “Website” link below, at the bottom of the event Details section.
(Note: The Kern Literacy Council micro event was held as a virtual lunch on September 24. If you missed the live event you can visit it through this Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/227090388721181.)
