SUMMARY:Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra’s 4th of July Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra\, under the direction of Dr. David Newby\, and the Tehachapi Symphonic Chorus led by Sandra Adams will celebrate the Fourth of July with a stirring program of show tunes\, movie music\, patriotic songs\, marches\, light classical and pops music. The concert will be on Sunday\, July 2\, 2023 at Country Oaks Baptist Church located at 20915 Schout Road in Tehachapi.  \nRelax from 4 to 6 p.m. to special tunes brought to you by your very own Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra and Tehachapi Symphonic Chorus. Downbeat for the Star-Spangled Banner is at 4:00\, followed by the Armed Forces Salute. If you are a member of\, or a veteran of any of the armed services\, you are invited to stand when you hear that service’s song. In recognition and thanks for all your service\, the Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra would like to invite everyone to join us in saluting these brave men and women from wherever you may be.  \nThere will be a World Premiere Performance of three pieces arranged by TSO members. Andrew Barth\, the symphony’s French Horn player\, has arranged “The Launch” from the movie Apollo 13. Barth is a mechanical engineer at Scaled\, but for fun\, he loves listening to movie music and arranging it for the orchestra. Charles Fernandez plays bassoon as a guest musician with the symphony. The orchestra will be playing his “Tribute to Bob Hope” and “Around the World in 80 Days” medley.  \nSince your Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra won’t be able to give the usual concert in the stadium\, the concert will be live-streamed at 4 PM on Sunday\, July 2nd on the Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra Facebook page. This and previous concerts from this year can be found and enjoyed through the website. If you have Facebook\, once there\, search for Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra. If you do not have a Facebook account\, log on to your computer and search the internet for the Tehachapi Symphony. You will find Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra – Home with a www.facebook.com address. SUMMARY:Safe Haven Kids League of California City presents "Summer Breeze A Day With Our Seniors”
DESCRIPTION:(SHKLCC) is an organization dedicated to help families and especially youth in our community. Over the last year we have been able to help more than 800 families. We are currently in the early stages of planning our next event “A Day With Our Seniors Of Cal-City” This event will include the following: This amazing event is for parents and kids to come out and enjoy a day of community & fun With our seniors . We will have pictures for keepsakes of memories for the kids and families\, we will be giving a lot of amazing items to our seniors for free. We will also have BINGO / Karaoke and a lot of free items for our seniors / Starbucks of Cal-City / Dolores Huerta Foundation or (Capk) Community Action Partnership of Kern Foundation. all will be there\, supporting our seniors & our community. Opportunity Drawing / Arts & Crafts / Food\, Water & juice / blankets and a lot more. (SHKLCC) has been doing amazing things here in our community. We started in a dirt field giving to our community with 10 to 15 people\, now we have moved at our local recreation center and have over 150 to 200 people come out and support us. This year we would love to give even more. lt is becoming increasingly difficult for the organization to continue to provide their excellent services to our community. The reason behind this is due to the increasing costs and the current economic environment. That’s the reason why I’m contacting you. I feel strongly about the (SHKLCC). Your help to our organization will help us continuously help our community. 1\, (SHKLCC) works very hard for the kids & families of our community. 2\, Safe Haven Kids League of California City does not discriminate against race\, gender\, age\, religion\, or sexual orientation\, as well as other categories. 3\, (SHKLCC) board members do not take a salary\, all donations are used for our events that we host. Any donations will be extremely appreciated\, and will make sure our community knows where this generous donation comes from.

SUMMARY:Dinner at the Derby
DESCRIPTION:The annual Dinner at the Derby fundraiser benefiting Youth Connection\, Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County\, and Bakersfield North Rotary Foundation will be off to the races on April 28\, 2023. \nThe races are pre-recorded\, with the winners of each of the 12 races entered into a drawing for the grand prize. There’s only one big winner\, but wagering on the races adds to the excitement. The gambling is aboveboard\, with winners being paid in tickets for the raffle\, which consists of baskets donated by the board members of Youth Connection. The buffet dinner is Southern-themed. The parade of hats has guests don festive headwear in honor of “race day.” This fabulous event also includes a live and silent auction. \n$150 Single ticket (includes Naming/Ownership of 1 Virtual Racehorse) OR $250 Couple’s ticket (includes Naming/Ownership of 1 Virtual Racehorse) \nFor more information\, please get in touch with Ed Jacobs at 661-325-3730 x 242
