Kern River Valley Nonprofits Encouraged to Apply for Kern River Valley Community Fund 2017 Grants
Aug 14, 2017

Thanks to the generous and heroic efforts of a dedicated body of donors and philanthropists (including an anonymous "Angel"), the Kern River Valley Community Fund raised $200,000, which has allowed it to start sharing its wealth in perpetuity with the KRV community. The fund's first grant application season began Monday, August 14, and will last through Friday, September 22, 2017. The maximum funding request is $5,500, and the opportunity is limited to agencies serving the Kern River Valley area. Apply online through Kern Community Foundation's website. Click here to get started.  Follow ALL instructions on the page:

1) Create a New Account;

2) Register with the Foundation ("Nonprofit Registration for Foundation Services");

3) Enroll your agency on GuideStar.org, making sure it meets the Silver or higher Transparency Rating on this robust nonprofit database; and

4) Apply for a "Kern River Valley Community Fund 2017 Competitive Grant."

Good luck to all applicants in the historic first round of grants from the Kern River Valley Community Fund!
