Maya Cinemas Make a Difference Scholarship
The Maya Cinemas Make a Difference Scholarship ("Scholarship") was established in 2017 to reward students who are truly making a difference. The annual scholarship provides academic support to graduates of Kern County high schools.
Scholarship funds are raised every year at Maya Cinemas. Patron donations are matched dollar for dollar by Maya Cinemas to support education in the communities they serve.
Who is eligible to receive the scholarship?
The Fund provides financial assistance in the form of one-time scholarships to students who fulfill the following criteria:
- Graduated from a Kern County high school.
- Planning to attend full-time at an approved 2-year college, 4-year college, or vocational school.
- Minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Complete the Maya Cinemas Make a Difference Scholarship application through Kern Community Foundation with all materials by the deadline of March 31, 2017.

How are scholarship recipients selected?
Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Committee, following the criteria above. Scholarship recipients are approved by Kern Community Foundation's Board of Directors.
